Joseph Ciza

Joseph is a nurse in the Democratic Republic of Congo, an area torn by war for over ten years. He is based at HEAL Africa, a hospital in Goma in the northern region of DR Congo. Since 2004, Joseph has worked as the manager of a program that offers holistic support to survivors of sexual violence, support that includes surgery, counseling, schooling, and occupational training in textile arts. His work with former child slaves and sex slaves often takes him through rebel territory. Joseph is married and is enrolled in a Master´s program for Community Pastoral Care and HIV/AIDS in Nairobi, Kenya.
